About the roles
Open Geospatial Learning Associate (project based)
Roles and key responsibilities
As an Open Geospatial Learning Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of our open geospatial learning activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the design and development of open geospatial learning courses and materials.
- Providing support to the primary trainer before, during, and after training sessions.
- Coordinating logistics for training and learning sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of geospatial concepts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with free and open source software for geospatial (FOSS4G) applications is an advantage
- Willingness to learn is required
Associate Open Geospatial Developer (project based)
Roles and key responsibilities
As an Associate Open Geospatial Developer, your role involves supporting the team in the development of open geospatial applications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in programming, coding, testing, and debugging geospatial applications.
- Implementing code based on specification and requirement documents.
- Writing documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with Python and Django
- Optional but advantageous qualifications:
- Familiarity with JavaScript and JS frameworks
- Knowledge of cloud computing services such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with version control systems and contributing to open source geospatial projects
- Willingness to learn is required
